How to know whether a Samsung 54" HDTV monitor is too big for your home
When most consumers start considering buying a new TV monitor, one of the first things they take into account is the size of the set they want to get. Bigger is often better, but not always. Many variables must be considered in finding the size that’s just right for you.
The Samsung 54" HDTV monitor is excellent. But is 54 inches of widescreen, LCD plasma goodness what you need? Would another size be better?
Look at the place where your TV is currently kept. Many people have entertainment centers with specific spaces for the TV. How big a TV can that spot hold? Obviously you don’t want to get something bigger than that, unless you’re planning to re-do the whole arrangement anyway.
You should also take into account how big the room is. A Samsung 54” HDTV monitor is great in a good-sized room. But if it’s a small living room area, such a large TV might be overpowering. You need to be able to sit far enough away from the screen that you can view it comfortably. If the room is small, you may need a smaller TV to be comfortable and prevent eye strain; otherwise, watching TV might be like sitting in the front row at a movie theater!
On the other hand, if the room is sufficiently large, and if you like to have guests over to watch TV and movies, a large set might be the way to go. A 54” set, such as Samsung’s HDTV version, is one good option. Other sizes, as large as 72”, are commonly available, though of course the price goes up along with the size. Know in advance what your budget is, and find the best TV for that price.
You might also consider getting a wall-mounted unit. Flatscreen TVs are ideal for that purpose, and it can be an elegant, modern touch to your TV room. It also frees up space on cabinets and entertainment centers for other things.
In summary, a Samsung 54 HDTV monitor makes a fine addition to any home entertainment system -- provided you’ve got the space for it.
